Yaktrax Snow Grips “Be prepared this winter”
Yaktrax Ice Safety Traction Device
Keep those you love safe on ice and packed snow this winter.
Many elderly people become effectively housebound in icy conditions through fear of accidents. Yaktrax is a simple device that can be put on over their existing shoes or boots to give a safe grip on icy pavements.
Are you a regular jogger? Why give up because there’s ice on the ground? Yaktrax gives you a grip on packed ice and snow that allows you to walk and run as you would normally.
Essential for urban dog walkers. Deep snow in the park isn’t the problem, its the ice on the pavements, paths and car-park where the majority of accidents occur.
- Yaktrax are made out of an injection moulded thermal plastic elastomer designed for easy on and off.
- The coils are protected against rusting and hand-wound to give you 360 degrees of traction on ice and snow.
- When you walk in the Yaktrax Walker or Pro, every step you take places hundreds of biting edges in direct contact with the ice beneath your feet.
- Yaktrax can be worn in temperatures as low as -41 degrees Fahrenheit.
- The Walker is the original version of Yaktrax and is ideal for pedestrians, the elderly, business people or anyone who want greater stability on ice and snow.
- Use the Yaktrax Walker while walking to and from work, school or just to the postbox.
- Yaktrax Walker are designed for people who are looking for an easy-to-use, lightweight traction device for their shoes.
- The patented design of the Walker makes it a unique solution to walking on packed snow and ice. The outer band conforms to the length and width of your boot or shoe.
- The high strength horizontal coils provide forward and backward stability. The vertical coil pattern provide side-to-side stability.
- The Yaktrax Pro is ideal for the person needing increased durability while working, running or enjoying outdoor activities during the winter months. It is equipped with a removable performance strap that was designed for stability.
- The Pro still has the same simple design and effectiveness as the Walker with the unique 360 degrees of traction with every step you take.

Tent Pitching Guide DVD
Yeomans has launched a tent pitching guide on DVD. The DVD was produced by an in-house team who used their industry experience to tackle the biggest issues faced by customers. The demonstrations feature different types of tent, so advice should still be relevant to campers who don’t have the specific model shown, the company said. Project manager Drew Milner said: “The DVD is a response to the problems our customers have experienced in the past. Camping is all about having fun and if we can make tent pitching easier and quicker for our customers it’s got to help.”
The DVD is available free in Yeomans stores with the following tents or can be bought on its own for £4.99.

Yeomans Outdoor Leisure increase presence in Worksop with new store
National outdoor retailer, Yeomans Outdoor Leisure, opened a brand new store in Worksop on Saturday 18th June. The new store offers the same high level of customer service and product knowledge but with a larger range of outdoor equipment than the previous outlet in Worksop. At twice the size, it replaces the previous smaller store located on Bridge Street. The new store will showcase the company’s expanding range of tents, camping equipment, outdoor clothing, footwear and accessories.
Yeomans Outdoor Leisure is a respected national retailer which has been trading in Worksop for over 20 years, offering branded apparel and equipment for the individual or family who enjoy the outdoors – principally walking, hiking and camping. The previous Yeomans store had strong support in the area which the company attributes to its traditional approach, retaining the same excellent customer service as it did when Walter Yeomans started the company right at the beginning of the 20th Century.
The new Yeomans Outdoor Leisure store opened in the Priory Shopping Centre, increasing the Worksop store’s floor space to 1200 sq. ft. providing visitors with a far wider in-store offering. The growth of interest in camping, hill walking and holidaying in the UK, coupled with the popularity of the previous Yeomans store prompted the sourcing of a larger retail outlet in the town. Yeomans is committed to continually providing value for money quality products, supported by the highest possible level of customer service and this is set to continue at the new store location.
A raffle was held on the opening day which saw the lucky winner and local resident, 11 year old, Richard Tomlinson won one of the popular ‘Peakland Sonic’ pop up tents.
The response during the opening week was very encouraging and Yeomans would like to say a big thank-you to all new and existing customers alike.
Vango Airbeam Tents – Pitching Information Update
Updated Pitching Instructions from Vango for all Airbeam Tents…
Further to customer feedback, and some reviews, we have been carrying out some investigation into reported issues with Airbeam tents. It has become apparent that some customers are inflating the tents to the maximum pressure of 5psi, then adding a few more pumps as they feel this adds stability and rigidity to the beams. Unfortunately this appears to be leading to some cases of burst tubes, and of seam taping opening, due to the added pressure on the seam.
Please note the following new instruction for inflating your Airbeam tent.
- Inflate all tubes to 3psi. The tubes MUST be guided into an arch as they are inflated.
- Once all tubes are inflated to 3psi each one can have an additional 1 or 2 “pumps” .
- Final tube pressure MUST NOT exceed 4psi.
This slightly lower pressure does not affect the stability of the tents.
